buying a bandsaw ...

Thought long and hard, did some "research", I want a bandsaw for preparing turning blanks and workshop work ... limited by budget and that my workshop is in the basement so weight/height restrictions apply ... decided on Scheppach Basato 4 ... and got a good price from Anglia Tools ... at the end of October ...

No stock then they said ... late November for delivery ...

Phone calls now ... no stock from Germany until January! Hmmm ...

They've taken my money ... offer refund now, or hold on ... what do I do?

In New Year VAT back at 17.5% maybe +/- price rise? Seems like a Scheppach issue, so no other UK supplier likely to have stock now ... and if they have, elevated price? Should I look for alternative saw? Wait for supply ... and request/demand "compensation" (blades? etc) ... or cancel order and start again in NY?

What would you do?

Either wait until Jan, or ring around other companies and see if any actually have stock.

Why not call at the showroom of the importers of Scheppach, there not that far from you (Brighouse) or give them a call 01484 400 488.

Are they allowed to charge you before actually sending the goods?

I'd go for a refund and then follow up the other suggestions.
