This is my next project - an oval folding table a bit like this one:

I can only find butlers tray hinges at places like Rutlands and Isaac Lord and they seem v expensive - do I need to make this with these special hinges?
Thanks
Mark

Many thanks guys for the links. I also found them at Lee Valley which look good - waiting to hear what shipping charges are
Cheers

Regards Keith

Doesnt everyone have a butler? (PS I got my butler to type this reply :D )

That's going to be a nice project to build.
Any thoughts on timber choices Mark ?

Butlers, no.
Au pair, yes! yes! oh yes! =P~

Can't help noticing disparity of pricing, unless delivery option is a factor here.

AAA%20(38).jpg

£16.67 a pair from shiner as referenced by xy mosian

lrg_289-420x320.jpg

£24.82 for one? (or is that one pair) from martin as referenced by Peter.

Both listings use the same image.

Price £ 13.61 Plus shipping and handling Plus VAT for one.

As always total delivered price is never obvious until you get to the checkout.

Certainly puts a premium on a project such as this, maybe all to the good in that it puts an onus on maker to do as good a job and use the best of materials as possible.

Perhaps that was/is one of the main driving forces to make a quality item, the cost of the raw materials needed.

$39 bucks from lee valley for 4 pairs plus whatever they add for p&p
tanks guys
cheers mark
