Looking to change/renew the business insurance on my workshop premises

Anyone got any recommendations or specific advice from experience of who to avoid??

Looking for public liability, stock, machinery and tool cover in my premises

Cheers

I got insurance for my boatbuilding buisness from GJW PL product liability & covered for stock & tools etc.

Roger
I have public & product liability with Simply Business who I found helpful and very competitive. No doubt they would cover the other items you mentioned too. PM me if you need any further info.

Cheers for the replies - will make some enquiries and let you know how I get on.

My renewal with existing insurer came in and was increased by 70% on last year - on querying why was advised that it was market increase - my arse!!!

All the MoneyExpert/Meerkat Muppet type sites cannot understand what a cabinet maker does!!!! (hammer) (hammer)

I can second the helpfulness of Simply Business. Can't fault them, never had to make a claim though, knock on wood.

Try NFU. You don't have to be a farmer, and they understand what we do, and are sensible about it all. I really rate them.

I use these towergate.co.uk Been competitive for the 4 years I've been with them.

+1 for NFU

I used to work for a small firm not farming or wood related, they had an asbestos roof and they were the only ones who would provide cover.

Roger

I have been with NFU since 2009 and have had no problems with them.

Ring you local office as they will have a better idea of what you do and more importantly where you are, so if you have a problem you will speak to someone local, unlike most other companies who will have a call centre in Outer Mongolia.
