I thought I understood these but now I'm not so sure. Been researching for a new freezer and I see some advertised as built-under at 850mm height and others 815mm and 820mm.

They normally come with height adjustable legs - or shim them so they reach the underside of the worktop.
Hope this helps
Philly :D

units tend to be 720mm and plinths vary between suppliers but are usualy round 150/160mm giving a finished worktop height of 910mm ish :?

hi roger,

you need the extra space between freezer and worktop for ventilation otherwise the compressor will overheat in no time and you will have to replace it ,[ many pounds]. if you don't like the gap why not put a grill in to close it?

820mm under the worktops is a bit on the low side unless you are having nice granite tops with a mitred downstand

I usually fit Neff and they vent through a grill at the bottom and can be fitted tight to the underside of the WT, usually end up with about 70-80mm of the adjustable legs wound out.

Very true but I have to 'fess up. Mark 1 kitchen had quarry tiles (quite thick ones) fitted up to where the appliances went. They sat directly on the concrete floor.

Then SWMBO wanted a refit and rather than hack up the quarry tiles I had the new tiles laid over the top of them. To make it easier to instal the appliances (ie to be able to slide them in and out easily, I laid some of the old worktop onto the concrete floor and so the units now slide in/out quite easily. But it does mean that my available space is a bit limited...I guess I could remove a piece of worktop to gain that 30mm but then getting the appliance in and out (worst case OUT!) would be awkward. For some very good reason (which escapes me at the moment) we kept the original worktop height the same relative to the walls. And the worktop is granite...ahem...
