Hi there. I think this might be a daft question but here it goes.
Currently trying to buy a house which is proving difficult for a few reasons. The global pandemic isn't helping either.
We are trying to make the most of our budget and have viewed a couple of houses that are okay but... Not really big enough. Plenty of land though so extending might be an option, the trouble is I don't know how to budget for building an extension.
I know it can be a long process with planning permission etc but is there a guide for the cost from start to finish of extending?
I imagine it differs for adding say, a ground floor room or extending up. I'd consider both.
Is there even a rough guide of the cost per sq metre of floor space so that I can estimate that it's worth buying a house for x amount of money because we can add a bedroom or whatever for y amount.
Does that make sense?
