I think I've broken my thermometer in the 'shop. It read zero yesterday and still reads the same today. Is it broken or how can I fix it? - Rob

Try lots of hand sawing and sweeping up , then re arrange everything in the shop 5 times , stack the wood at the bottom of the pile to the top , them plane by hand 10 8 foot scaffold boards ,

If it still reads zero , plug in the heater on full blast for 24 hours

If after that it still reads zero , you need a new thermometer :p

Hope this helps

Managed to get mine up to about 13 deg C today which was quite comfotable, but it was not at all friendly when I first went in this morning.

Cast iron planes seem to work as heatsinks drawing warmth from your hands!

Cheers, Ed

I had to get inside the shop yesterday, I only got back into the country from spain yesterday too, so the temperature was a tad cold!!!!!!! I spent about 5 minutes outside the shop, heating the padlock up with a lighter, before I even could get inside! While waiting I noticed cobwebs just under the roof, had even froze! Got inside luckily, it wasn't frosted up in there too!
