Thank you - I'm 'umbled.
Mind you, despite our best contrived efforts at creating a thing of beauty, nature has us beaten hands down! For example.....

Good point @Linus - "faults" in wood, when made up like that, always strike me as attractive.
Same with bowls with wany edges.

Thanks everybody - Gives you a warm feeling, but enough about my problem. Making a change from boxes I decided to try a platter. Came up nice and shiny

Spalted looks amazing, and spalted can look quite dull in a lot of instances, but then you get a bit and its 'spalting' is just incredibly well pronounced.
