My first turned box in Walnut and Maple. It was just some practice with no design in mind but as it was going so well I made a lid for it!

Nice job, and good finish.

Depends how much you want to fiddle, but if time is to hand I'd have a play with the balance on the design a bit. It could be the camera angle but the lid seems to dominate the box. You could slim the lid a little to help or even turn a slim maple base to help give the eye some balance.

However, either way nice project and thanks for posting.

I know what you mean, the box needs to be looked at head on to do it justice but it was the best I could do with the iPad at the time. I really need a light tent to be honest for stuff like this.

A well turned box but as others have said the base needs some work on the shape and the lid I would have made the knob smaller and really gone for a different wood as the lightness of the maple is just too light
