Hi John,
I like the shape and the rope (although I agree with Loz that hemp rope might have looked better) and I like the neat way you've finished the ends of the rope. The only thing about I don't like is the infilled texture on the rim - it might just be the light in the photo, but the greenish colour of the infill detracts from the colour of the wood and the rope for me - maybe a silvery coloured infill would have looked better?
Having said that, I think you've done a marvellous job in salvaging something that's been bounced of your workshop ceiling and walls a few times! Anything of mine that happens to usually ends up in the firewood pile
