Found Biscuit jointer with dust extraction

Hi all!
I’m after a biscuit jointer but it needs to have a dust extraction port due to where I’m going to be using it (building cabinets in nursery and don’t want mdf dust getting everywhere).

I’ve got a budget of around £100 and looking for something fairly decent (not wickes own brand) so I can use it on other projects later down the line

Your budget alone will limit you to the likes of Triton or Rutland. I have the old Elu which is the present day DeWalt. This is well over twice your budget, - a similar price to the Makita.
I have been pleased with the performance of my Elu, over the years, but I have no Idea how well the Triton performs. I would probably give the Rutlands one a miss, though the Triton might be worth a consideration if someone on this forum can give it a favourable review.

I have to agree with @niall Y in that your budget is too low ,, you might get lucky and pick up a used one for that sort of money but even used can command a decent price as the quality makes especially seem to hold their price especially if in good, clean condition.

You will still need to up your budget for a decent second hand one, but at least you might get your money back if you sold it afterwards.

I went through 3 different makes before finding one where the fence was square with the slot and the hole was the size of a biscuit. It’s one of the most frustrating bits of kit when they are not quite right!

My first biscuit jointer was a Performance Pro from B&Q, probably the worst tool I've ever owned. The fence and slot were not parallel, the fence always moved no matter how much you tightened it and the blade wobbled, it really was awful.

Don't go cheap, I bought a Rutland one and despite tightening everything the slots were not straight owing to an unstable fence. I returned it which Rutland as always were helpful and bought a Dewalt. Either extend the budget or reconsider your fixtures. If you are worried about MDF, consider plywood and dowels and it may well fit your budget and get a reasonable dowelling jig from the project.

I don't want to hijack someone else's thread but there's little point in duplication either. I am looking for a decent, accurate biscuit jointer and would like to know what is considered the best at a reasonable price level. I couldn't justify a Lamello but I'm willing to pay what's necessary to get an accurate tool. Thanks.

I have the Dewalt and it is a robust build, as mentioned earlier, I had a very disappointing experience with the Rutland one.

Mine is the dewalt 626 I think it’s fine for my skills especially given the cost of a domino or the lamello etc

I ended up getting the Makita after having found one for £110 local to me.

The bloke used to be a carpenter and had no use for it anymore, and it was in very good condition.

You can tell I have no brand allegiance in my workshop, it’s a rainbow of different coloured tools, that’s the advantage I guess of 240v, no pesky battery systems to be locked into.
