I wasn’t actively searching for a new thicknesser, but browsing the book of faces marketplace I saw this beauty, reasonably close to home (about 20 miles away) and at a very low price:
A Startrite Inca (I made the trolley) for £100. The infeed rollers aren't perfect, but it all works as it should and the knives are as new nearly. At that price I bought it straight away.
My previous hobby machine was a Ferrex (Aldi) one that had done me OK. I actually put it up for sale on this site, but with no takers put it on Ebay.
and now there are no selling fees, so I got all of it's final price, which was £102,
so I have massively upgraded and got £2 as well. I've obliterated the buyers name for privacy. Very happy!
I may come back for advice about my new toy in another thread.
