I had a look at my bandsaw book, the bandsaw handbook by Mark Duginske and there are quite a few pages on bandsaw setup. He makes it quite clear that if you are planning (if you are able) to set your bandsaw up co-planar then it needs to be when it's actually running with the blade under tension. Setting it up co planar at rest and expecting it to stay this way under tension with the machine running is extremely unlikely.

I used this method today for tensioning my new Tuffsaws blade ... perfect.
