Best method for edge sharpening?

Just wondering, what is the best method for sharpening edged tools like chisels, plane blades, etc?

To be fair, the amount of times it comes around, every other day is three days too late.

First of all, welcome to the forum

Secondly, the ONLY was to sharpen chisels is to align whatever you are sharpening using a honing guide to precisely 37 degree north -north - west, spit on your hands and do three circles where you are stood, then sacrifice a pigeon and use its blood on four corners of your sharpening bench and the workshop.

You will never have blunt tools again.

It is slightly more complicated for plane irons though.

What you need is something very abrasive, with a thick hide, capable of a good strop.

What do you mean sharpen? I just buy a new chisel when my old one gets dull.
