Knocked up a mobile toolholder for the bench this weekend.
The advantage to me is that my marking tools are handy:
engineers squares (2) pencils (2) and stanley cutter.
The block was constructed from an offcut of 8x2" and the ends were put to the bandsaw to make slots for blades of squares to drop into, some scrap wood was stuck on to the 8x2 to cover these slots.
Dowel holes were drilled into the bottom of holder and also into bench, dowels are inserted loose (not glued) so that holder can be removed if space required, and also that dowels stop holder from toppling over.
pictures attached.
I might have to extend tool holder if I purchase more marking instruments.
Perhaps moderators would like to put this thread inot projects section.
I dont seem to have much success in loading to that site.
