Bead and Butt with tracksaw

There has been a lot of discussion about dado stacks in a table saw but is this attachment akin to a dado cutter for a festool track saw? This guy also has a modified cutter for doing bead and butt paneling with a track saw.

Kind of ironic that molding heads for table saws that do that are decried as dangerous are being moved to hand held saws and touted as a good idea.

The grooving attachment fits the HK85 circular saw, not the TS55 or TS75 track saws.

I make t and g vee using a 45 degree track saw and a 3m rail. it could work perfectly well tbh.

I would have thought Festool would have at least made them non stick, then they would be more suitable for cyclist who have close encounters!

Actually, that is a bargain - FFX has them for £485.95. It's also the stock Festool groove block which does 16-25mm grooves up to 35mm deep. I've used it a few times and, besides the initial terror, it's remarkably good at what it does: super quick, very clean cuts but a tad messy.

The bead and butt cutter block Ollie had made is now sold by the original manufacturer, Whitehill, for a snip at £357 inc. VAT.

The Festool offering is just a toy compared to the Mafell pant-wetter. Behold the NFU50!

That is some tool for cutting tennons and grooves, but at £1800 how many people round here have one of those, the problem is you still have to cut the mortice and for that sort of money you could buy a half decent bandsaw.

The solution is easy; Mafell will sell you a portable chain morticer and even bandsaw too. Just get someone else to pay for them.
