I have been a life-long customer of Axminster using there mail order service almost since they started trading in the 1970's from Chard Street Axminster.
I have just unsubscribed from Axminster's 'Email Club' newsletter, I think its a 'bit off' that they are unable to give mail shots a rest for one day only -today Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Probably automated , done by a computer , Is it the SALE with all the price increases ?

I'm sure there’s a very good reason but I'm at a loss to understand why getting a newsletter is a problem. :?

I think it's disgusting ... that the shops are all closed for one day.

I might have wanted to go shopping... It's only a Sunday.

There's a general store near us run by a very pleasant Indian family. They're open very long hours including today and boxing day and there's even a bell to ring should you find them closed and are desperate for something!

Feeling quite miffed - I didn't get one!

No doubt automated - I received a load of job adverts this morning.

Until now I thought my wife and I had one of the best Christmases ever, however opening this posting and realaising I had not had the Axminster posting others seem to have makes me feel lonely and unwanted.

I understand the thinking, but actually Christmas day is now a day when online sellers take loads of orders.

Why? -It may have something to do with the fact a whole country of people are sitting around having eaten too much, just happen to pick up the ipad and start browsing.......

These emails are set to go automatically. I think you either ignore them or read them but I'm not offended by getting them.

I got 37 emails yesterday inc 1 from Axminster, 1 from Rutlands. Also some from Amazon and Thompson holidays all trying to flog stuff. I didn't actually look at any emails yesterday. I have no issue with it as it's not like people are being forced to work and send them on Christmas Day. Most campaigns will have been worked out in advance and even stock bought in for the sales etc.

At first I thought it quite strange that an E-voucher was a very last minute present for someone you forgot, surely if you like someone enough to buy them a present you wouldn't have forgotten them in the first place.

Then I realised it could be the perfect present, if you dislike someone so much that you can completely forget them until the very last minute but still feel obliged to get them something then what better than an Axminster voucher to show your utter contempt for them

I assume this is tongue in cheek. If not, What are you doing looking at emails anyway? :)
