AXMINSTER TRADE AT260PT PLANER THICKNESSER

I'm just getting into woodwork and on a hobby basis and I'm very close to ordering the AXMINSTER TRADE AT260PT PLANER THICKNESSER for a few quid shy of £1400. I know it's not an entry level one but I consider it to be an important tool in ones arsenal and I intend to focus on cabinet and furniture work.

Does anyone have one and recommend it? Or is there something just as good but a bit cheaper elsewhere? Thank you for reading.

I have one and recommended it 100%, although they have shot up in price recently. You should search the forum as there was a recent post with quite a few contributions that could be helpful.

I don't find the fence stays all that square, but it's easy to check and adjust each time.

As you'll see from the thread, I had some issues with snipe which have now been sorted by reducing the tension on the rollers. Axminster were very helpful in sorting that.
