i've had a voucher in the post from axminster this morning offering 10% off a single item from them, anyone else had one and if so is it encouraging you to buy something expensive ??
:D

I had one too. They nearly got me to buy a bandsaw with it, but they're out of stock of the ones I'd consider.

i spent a couple of hours trying to decide what i need, then realised i should be considering what i want, then realised i should actually be looking for what I am allowed

I had one in the post on Monday. I had visited there Axminster shop last Friday- fortunately did not buy anything!... i am thinking about an early and expensive birthday present as I fear my birthday will be wiped out this year as we are about to start our kitchen installation the end of this month. I am just working out if this expensive thing will fit my new workshop.

Mike

P.S. can't tell you what it is otherwise it wont be a surprise for my birthday.

Mine lasted as long as it took the PC to boot up!

d'oh, just when I was about to make an order too!

Wizer

If you know your customer number just log on and add it when asked to for the discount.

I noticed this voucher excludes Festool products and anything over £1,000 inc. VAT... I'm tempted to buy a Makita belt sander (saving £20) or, as I mentioned elsewhere, to save £30 on the Jet Spindle Sander...

They didn't one of these last year as well but I'm sure it was only available to use 'in store' - nice to see a slight change this year then. :)

At least you are not making the mistake I made last year when I did not read the small print clearly and thought it was 10% off everything.
Spent about £90 on smallish things and received a £1.50 discount!

Rod :)

Could someone tell me when the offer is valid until? I'm away from home at the moment so I won't see the voucher for a while, and I need to know how long I can afford to procrastinate about what to buy :)

Cheers,
Neil

Rather annoying that this offer doesn't include Festool items. :x

I suppose it shows what we already know, that it is hard to get any discount on Festool. It seems that even the mighty Axminister are not allowed to do it, or don't have the margin to give away a mangy 10%.

Tony.

Are you sure it doesn't include Festool ? - I want to buy a CMS and went through all the way up to the point where I had to confirm the purchase - ie the very last screen before you get the confirmatory email. The system had definitely taken 10% off at that point. I just want to get a quote on a new system from my local dealer before taking the plunge

Definitely excludes Festool - the voucher I got has a footnote to say so.

Cheers

Karl

Have not had one in the post but did get one for in store purchases for the new catalogue launch in store a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps you get one or the other? I live near the Sittingbourne store so always purchase from there rather than than by post - perhaps that makes the difference?

Managed to get £35 off a CT1502 planer :D Course now I need a portable thicknesser to go with it so will be keeping my fingers crossed for a 10% voucher in the post....

Steve.

You don't need the voucher to claim your 10%.

I made an order up last night and you just click a box to claim the voucher

This is what my bill looked like, and as you can see I got 10% of the mobile base but nothing off the danish oil :(

1 Axminster Universal Mobile Base £29.56 £29.56
1 Liberon Superior Danish Oil - 1 litre £11.73 £11.73

Sub Total: £41.29
Delivery: £3.95

Grand Total £45.24
Amount paid by card £42.28
Amount paid by voucher £2.96
