Hi, is it possible to put a bigger motor on the Axminster Awhbs250n. Just bought one used so I can learn to use a band saw.

i would like to make use of the 120mm depth and anticipate using it quite a bit.

No idea on swapping the motor but I’ve got one of those and have been able to resaw kiln dried oak up to 120mm (admittedly very slow rate of cut) using a 4tpi blade from tuffsaws).

If the motor appears underpowered, worth checking that the belt is set up for the higher speed as it took me far too long to work that out on mine...

Will be watching for other replies with interest on a motor swap!

I need a new drive belt for this machine. Where is the best place to get them.
