Awgb?

Browsing their site and wondering whether I should join or not?. Do you receive any mags or suchlike?.

The Association of Woodturners of Great Britain they do have a magazine. The information can be found at the site. Their forum is free to sign up to like this one.

Hi Steve, you get 4 magazines a year as part of your subscription, and they are well worth it. I am a member, although the club I'm a member of is affiliated to the NFWC.

IMO the AWGB is a far more professional group, and as I have found to my expense their 3rd. party club insurance is a lot better than the NFWG's.

They have a lot of schemes where they can help the newcomer, and even bursaries to help up and coming turners.

Neither 'ear not there Boysie, most of the clubs I know of personally, only use the NFWG so they can get the benefit of the club insurance.

A lot of clubs moved to the NFWG because they didn't like the club affiliation cover they got from the AWGB, and that everything seems to happen down south, or so I was been told. As I said earlier about my experience with the insurance, IMO you only get what you pay for.
