automatic lid stay for a box

Hi

Does anyone know where to get one for a smallish box, I have been asked to produce a box with an automatic stay so that when the lock is released the lid opens by itself.

Any help would be great.

How small?

I'm thinking a spring with arms - like you get in clothes pegs.

Brusso do stays that are built into the hinge but it doesn't lock as such, it just holds it at IIRC 95 degrees

I had thought about a spring type but it would need to open quite smooth and slow thats why I was thinking of a piston type.

I think it might be hard to find one suitable for a box size of 220x140x80mm

Again the customer wants something that open by itself after the lock is released.
