I am trying to source some imperial sizes suitable to fit in a two jaw brace.
That is, those that have a taper square fitting that goes into the chuck.
Any info or pointers greatly appreciated

Hi Jay,
just so happens that I bought a massive load of bits recently and have just started to go through them all.
Let me know what sizes you need and what pattern and I'll have a look.

Be careful - an auger bit can (sadly) be permently damaged by poor sharpening.

If any ham fisted bodger has EVER sharpened the outside of the nickers - the bit is pretty much dead.

Also look out for bent shafts in the finer sizes, although this is more-or-less correctable.

Other thank that, restoring and tuning auger bits is fun.

BugBear (who sent Alf a single "bling" restored bit, which ain't quite as flash as the box set someone else sent 'er)

Point taken! (sic)
Got all sorts in this haul of about 300 bits, taper spoons, spoons, shell augers, countersinks, driver bits, spade augers....
Most seem in pretty good nick with some mint, which is handy.
