I've got to the point where doing repairs.....crawling about on my hands and knees, trying to lower a heavy motor to change the capacitor then trying to lift it back into position are just not physically possible.
so I'm looking for a repair engineer for planer thicknesser.

I've searched the forum but can't find any reference to this being discussed before.
I'm based on the England Scotland boarder and any recommendations would be appreciated.
Or is it a yellow pages, pot luck approach?
Mike

If I were not at least 300 miles from you I would be happy to pop round for an afternoon and help you out with the heavy lifting.
Perhaps if you say exactly where you are there may be someone on this forum close enough to help you.
Failing that do you have one of those Men's Shed type organizations in your area? If you do I'm sure you could find someone there to help.

if it's not to big, perhaps u and another might be able to tip it on it's side.......
last one I did I raised the machine on a fork lift.....always a handy machine to have around.....

Where on the Border are you Mike?

Murray Gibson Services Ltd in Carlisle might be worth a call. They work on all manner of electrical installations if it's just the motor than needs fettling..

Mick

Hi Mike I was going to suggest you contact john Wilkinsons but not sure now as I went past there branch here in Leith today and it has been closed permanently. don't know if their other branches are open or not, I believe they had one in Glasgow but not sure now. But they did machine refurbs.

Have you looked at local agricultural engineering companies? they are used to dealing with all kinds of heavy machinery with electric motors.
