I'm gong to do some sculpting so I am thinking about an arbortech wheel to add to my angle grinder. The mess that makes does worry me a little and reminds me of a similar device from a German company I saw demoed in a woodworking show here in the Netherlands 3/4 years ago. It was basically the same as an abortech (the demo involved taking paint off wood without damaging the wood - with the finest of the cutters - very neat actually) except it had a port on the cover for dust/chip extraction - and boy did it work well.

I've now lost the leaflet of the guy selling these but does anyone one know of such a device, the standard abortechs from Axminster still do not include a chip extraction port.

Here's hoping

I have got the aximinster one you are talking about and I tell you it makes a massive mess. It is basically cutting like a chainsaw so I don't see how you could extract the chips. I put plastic sheeting covering all the shelves and around me in the shed and all the chips slide down onto the floor. It is a one seriously messy tool but loads of fun
