Anybody have any reference to this Stanley Corner Ratchet Bit Braces, Made in England, It seems to have the Stanley "sweetheart” logo box but no SW on the bottom of it.

Every corner (or "joist") brace I've seen has a pad above the ratchet so that pressure can be applied to the drill, and a step-down in the handle.

The drill you illustrate looks suspiciously as if someone has hacksawed a normal brace at the first bend in the crank, and put a (straight) handle on.

If that really is the case, they have done a very good job, can't tell from looking at it.
But it would explain why I can't find any reference to it

Well, the hacksawing isn't tricky, and in any case the saw cut is (now) inside the handle.

The handle may be specially made, or may have come from a pair of garden shears, or similar.

Thanks bugbear, the more I look at it the more I'm convinced you are correct.

JohnPW, that’s a good reference link, thanks.

I think Stanley "sweathart" branding was confined to American Stanleys (USA & Canadian tools) - not counting the current re-use of the label.

I could be wrong (I thought I was once, but I was wrong  )

Cheers, Vann.
