I saw the name mentioned on here, so went to their site. However is it any good? Seems very big. If i subscribe to the magazine to i get free web access?

Or is it mag OR web?

Cheers
Sean

The the mag and the web are different subscriptions. I can’t remember what the web subscription costs, but I remember getting a refund some months after subscribing when they reduced the cost! Anyway its not much and both the mag and the web are well worth the current $ rate.

I have subscribed to the website for the year and aside from this site it has been the best thing i have had access to. Generally i can locate the information i need off the site and then print off a PDF.

Good morning Sean. I can't answer about the magazine but I subscribe to finewoodworking.com and there have found a lot of useful information that I have been able to download in .pdf format for future reference. I'd say it was worth £2.50 a month or £22 a year. Bear in mind that most of the power tool reviews will be irrelevant as they are all for US equipment and reading them is likely to raise your blood pressure! I have a feeling that I've seen mention here of a free trial to FWW so that might be worth checking out.

I subscribe to both web and magazine (the web is much cheaper if you already subscribe to the paper one) and have done for around 3-4 years. The web subscription is great as there are loads of archived articles on there and I found it very useful when designing my new workbench - sort of like a woodworking library of sorts.

However, the mag dropping through the door is morer to my taste as I always prefer to read in print format rather than off a computer screen

Hi,
finewoddworking.com is a great resource. You can find and download pages of info. The archive goes back over 6 years but also has some selective bits from slightly older volumes.

Good value...but I still prefer the printed page.

If we could get Furniture and Cabinet Making to do the same that would be a useful resource also. Modern GWW and The Woodworker though would be much less good.

Alan

They have just started doing same.

Cheers Mike

The Fine Woodworking site is also good for the extras--additional stuff to go along with the magazine articles.

And if you're interested in SketchUp, you can read the blog to which I contribute as well as the sidebar in which I have some drawings tied to an article in the latest edition. :D

i've been a subscriber for quite a while but have hardly had time to look at it. What I have seen is very good

I agree that its worthwhile but I often forget that I have a sub   . It is also such a huge site that when searching, so many interesting results come up that its easy to get sidetracked completely.

Cheers

Cheers everyone.

Looks likes it pretty good from the comments.

I think i will join, don't think i'll bother with the mags though.

For magazine subscribers you can access the website for $14.50 per annum - or about 62p per month. Seems like a good deal to me!
