Hi all,

I have in my possesion an old thomas flinn brass back 10" saw. Have tried a hour or so of googling, but can't come up with any info on them. Has anyone used/ got one/ know anything about these saws, any good, rare etc? It is a similar style to the 1776 open handled modern saws.

Cheers.

Matt.

Hi Matt,

The following courtesy of Hand-Saw Makers of Britain.

Sheffield maker, operated from 1923 to 1998 and had the following as maker's marks: PAX, British, Crown, Craftsman, Jesse Lane, Wm. Greaves, DTY.

Well, they really are still in business. Web site is:
http://www.flinn-garlick-saws.co.uk/

They have a brief history on the web site, but it doesn't tell one much.

That's all I got. Sorry.

Take care, Mike
