This is a Stylish Twist pen from Axminster made with African Padauk. Finished with CA/BLO. This is by far the best finish that I have managed so far

I like the pen, good colouring, surprisingly more red than I would have expected from padauk. :shock:
Presentation,,,, :( not so good! The idea of the twig fine, but the background, oh no! The red background is swallowing the pen.
You need a complimentary colour to set it off, like very pale blue or green.
White will go with anything. The harmonic colour triangle or colour wheel will help to pick right one.
Advertising designers make use of them, :lol: So it must be right. :lol: :lol: :shock: :shock: :roll:

looks great derek, like the shape of the pen and the finish too. how many coats of CA/BLO did you use.
 
Thanks for all the comments guys. Did another 2 pens today will photo tomorrow. Managed to get a good finish on both 1 wood and 1 acrylic
