had a bit of a break from shed, wasn't really finding anything to tempt me, then I thought I would make a jewellery box using double bevel inlay technique for lid. 1st lid made with tulipwood and elm, not bad but in spite of careful test cuts, got gap on some edges, and made mistake of filling with superglue, nice smooth but very obvious edge.

the next attempt, usingbb ply as a background, on the first go wrecked it with wrong size of blade #-o and on the second go overenthusiastic sanding :cry:

next time I will use solid wood again as background.........and maybe simpler pattern

Sorry to hear of your trials and tribulations, Gill. I am sure you will get it right eventually but it's a pain when wood sometimes gets wasted. If it's any consolation, the only horse related item I tried to cut was also a disaster.
