Another crotch

It's alwys a bit of a surprise what shape will come from these crotches though you try and imagine it. This one is 6" largest dimension. Foot yet to be finished.

Ironically, the faster that you go the easier and safer it is. Sanding can be a pig mind and most of this was done stationary by hand. Initially they are done on a worm screw with the tail brought up (not unknown for the scew tyo work loose with the vibration when cutting) and a tenon cut and the underside shaped. Then into the chuck and do the inside.

I have done with the small pads in the past but I have run out of the discs and I want to get a larger load as well. As O am doing more and more work I am finding that things that I thought of as luxuries are tending to become necessities as they can cut down the work time a lot so I am slowly building up a stock of different tools and equipment. This took a good 30 mins. to hand sand...maybe 5 with the power tools?

All tax deductible as well :lol:
