Must be something in the air today i was given another axe that has seen better days . This one is only a tiny little thing that i think may have been hand made as there are no makers marks that i can find on it, and it has a sort of crudeness to it still showing hammer marks all over . It is definitely old and blunt and somebody had used a bit of broom handle or similar to fashion a handle and wedged it with a 40mm clout nail , this has been done later in its life and done very badly to boot . Having received some great advice on here sorting out the last one i have decided to give it another lease of life and have it by the fire in house, mainly for show but sharp enough to be used if needed for smaller kindling.
As it is on display i thought about a nice bit Bubinga would look OK , to you that know these sort of things ,will Bubinga be a suitable wood to use .
