I started making these last week and took them to the craft fair earlier this week, not only did I sell quite a few I got orders for some as well. The ones in the photo are ordered. In between other jobs I am trying to add more animals and will end up with about 8 different ones.

Many thanks for all your kind comments. Brendan. I made a lovely owl six months ago. I made it sitting on the branch of a tree and made the whole thing in walnut. For a backer that represented a full moon I used maple, loads of people said how nice it was but I never sold it and in the end gave it to a friend who loved owls.

Hi Geoff
I think I saw your owl on your fb page and was very impressed.
It never ceases to amaze me, you make something that you think will be a winner and it just doesn't sell, other stuff that you think won't sell goes quickly!!!
I had a craft fair on the 23 rd of November this year and made 3 claddagh ring ornaments as a tester. They sold in the first hour and I was well chuffed. Back home I made 6 more for the following week, and wouldn't you know it, not 1 sold.
There is an old saying, "how do you make God laugh? Tell Him your plans......"
Regards
Brendan

I did exactly the same thing Brendan. Soon after I started doing the craft fairs. I had taken six welcome signs with me and sold the lot before lunch so the following week I made 20 and did not sell one for six months.

I had the same thing last year with a blackboard I'd made out of an old window frame. Sold it within twenty minutes but they couldn't take it away til the end of the day. I could have sold it ten times over that day. Made a load more, and I still have a couple knocking around now :/

Nice pieces, Geoff, I love the font.
