Ridiculous! Looks like a target pistol grip to me, and an ugly one at that. Lots of useless "embellishing" (?) features.

I don't think that piece (should we call it a tool?) could be used for serious work, nor that the guy knows how to properly use a plane.
 
I like the closed handle on eg my 14" wooden jack, so I'm interested in what that might feel like on a Bailey type smoother, and while I'm not averse to decorative features as such, I don't think I'd do an exact copy...

Of course what it really needs to finish it off with proper class is go faster stripes on the sides and under-sole emergency blue LED's - epic!

Think you might enjoy a test drive in an infill plane, available in closed and open handled varieties.
