What an advert for Trend Mark (hammer)
There have been lots of farm workers died while working in grain silos, I bet that guy is Trends best salesman now

Useful article on how NOT to do it

1. Trend helmet won't cope with oxygen deficiency - a recognised risk
2. Safety rope attached to the wrist - really, so you only have one arm available to help yourself get out when the rope tightens.
3. Grain Bin Rescue tube - what a load of bo**ocks. We have a trapped man in a dangerous environment so we put another 2 or 3 rescuers at risk in the grain bin. A classic recipe for a multiple fatality because of stupidity. BUT given someone has gone to the bother of designing and building one it must be a relatively frequent occurrence in US.

All in all a very lucky man - not sure the Trend Helmet helped that much it doesn't provide oxygen or relieve pressure on the chest to allow breathing only reduces dust exposure - the least of his problems.

HSE Guidance http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/ais26.pdf says don't enter the silo when filled with grain use other means to remove the blockage and gives examples.
