African azobe - any good for making stuff from?

Hi, would the above wood be good for using in furniture making etc ? I have found plenty of mention of it being used in landscaping and outdoor stuff, but not as a material for finer projects.

It seems to plane up quite nice and is a nice colour, but very hard.

Any advice welcome

Have you found a supply of sawn boards and timber or, are you proposing to purchase it in large sections (ie. sleepers) and cut it up yourself? I don't know much about this species but, cutting in to a thick, wide lump of any wood is likely to have some consequences as the inner tension is released...
