Hello I am new to this site so appologies if I have posted this in the incorrect place.

I am looking for an adhesive product that can be used for bonding half lap joints that will be totally submersed underwater. I need a product that will not breakdown due to the constant water submersion and is total safe for use with fish.

Any ideas please

Many thanks

i would suggest giving the technical dept at west epoxy a call.

Yes, I agree that epoxy is probably the answer. Wessex Resins in Romsey (the UK licencees for West System) specialise in marine applications of epoxy. Their technical people are very helpful.

I understand this is used by boatbuilders, not sure how it will perform if it is totally submerged, or if it is safe for fish.

Urea formaldehyde is not suitable for continuous submersion. Resorcinol formaldehyde is usually used under the water line, but is not terribly good for you....
