I know that this is clunky and heavy but it's my first attempt at this type of eccentric turning. When you turn these things what order is best? I turned the stem first and I must have used a years supply of adrenalin turning the bowl after but I can't think of any other way of doing it. Any advice welcome

I've only done a couple, but started by doing the bowl and a short bit of stem with the timber in-line,then moved the timber off-centre a couple of times to do the stem;my theory was that it would be safer for the eccentric bits if you have reduced as much mass as possible from the bit that is swinging widest.

A bit like this, but not as quick, and not as well..

Hi Pete. Did a explanation of how I turned my avatar ages ago, may be of some help to you on eccentric turning.

One of the main things with this is that it must be light, other wise it can snap when swinging off centre.

How I did it. Just go down the post a bit.

Good luck.
