I decided to put my Blue Spruce paring chisels & my Lie Nielsen chisels here in this cabinet

Here they are now.

I then decided my work bench would be better directly below the tool cabinets, but to do so would mean the mitre saw bench would have to be moved to another wall. You can see from this pic it's in the way. :D

With it moved the bench was placed in position and a new home for my router table.

Meanwhile at the other end of the shop The morticer & drill stand had to be moved

With those moved it cleared the way to re-home the mitre saw bench, I also angled the position of the saw table and my planer.

Now with the cleared wall where the mitre bench was all my other machines have a lot more room.
The Drill press was also taken off it's steel table and now resides at the end of the mitre table.

So what started as somewhere to put my new chisels has taken a week of total upheaval :D

Workshops are a perfect example of Darwin in action. They constantly evolve and any pretence at design is eventually overtaken and irrelevant!

I am betting the next phase will come when you decide to do something about the space taken up by your dust collector arrangements!

Looking good Nibbs. I'm not sure I'll ever make up my mind how I want to layout the workshop. As Chris says, It'll evolve and change.

Nice chisels LN - not a subtle gloat!
Glad I'm not the only one continuously moving things around in my shop - although a little tighter in mine!
What happened to the Bahco chisels?
Cheers
Gidon

It's your own fault it took a week, you shouldn't have so much stuff, it's criminal,
envious regards,
Rich.

This is the third or is it the forth time of moving it about, although this is the first time on moving the mitre saw bench and god was it heavy, even with everything removed and the drawers taken out I couldn't move it, I had to enlist help and even then it was a matter of crowbarring it an inch or so at a time.

The Bahco chisels haven't quite been demoted to opening tins of paint or removing nails as yet, but will be used where I need to whack um with a lump hammer. :D

Blue spruce the space maker, about $500 more room in the wallet and more room in the shop. ;) Nice job! Already dared to use them? How are they?

Nicely done. This Bluespruce chisels are so good that you need to be able to get a hand on them quickly :)

That is a serious drive by gloat!

You're re-organisation looks good, and the chisels look well in the those lovely cabinets.

David

I guess even people with larger workshops have problems with space. :)

At least you have the space to change things around though...

Am I counting two bobbin sanders as well?? Probably not. I reckon you've just moved one between photo's.... Although, saying that, one looks black while the other looks a dark, navy blue...

Looking very good your Lordship, just one thing, could you explain whats that on the bag of wood chips in the Morticer photo, it looks like Mushrooms, maybe magic mushrooms

It's packaging, that polystyrene stuff, don't know what it taste like though. When I get anything delivered that contains it I poke my vac into it, saves sweeping it up.

Very nice LN. Maybe you could come over and give me some guidance on arranging my shop.

By the way, over here those white packing things are now made of cornstarch. They are edible although they don't have much flavor. The nice thing is they can be dissolved in water. I just put them in a large pail of water. Then pour the water in the flower beds.
