I vebtured into town today to get a few bits and pieces and one of the shops I went into the was family bargains store, In one part of the store I was actually looking for a PVC cleaner, which I did not find, but I did have an interesting find where they keep the furniture polish. It was in a 250ml aerosol can and was called wood silk. I had never seen it before so thought I would try it out.
In the workshop I read the instructions and they suggested it would be best on sealed wood. Out of curiosity I tried it on some unsealed offcuts and was quite amazed at the end result. After spraying the off cuts I rubbed it in with a soft cloth and then left it to dry. After ten minutes it had dried and left a very nice silky semi gloss finish. On the can it states that the polish is mainly bees wax, contains no silicone or water. It's certainly a very quick way to achieve a very acceptable finish and I think the can cost £2-50 so next time I'm in town I will get a stock in.
