Currently at the Henham Steam Rally in Suffolk and wandering round the stalls spied a gem today.

A Record 42 in near mint condition with a blade that appears to have never been touched from new.

The best bit was when the stall holder said " that fing, you can ave it for a fiva guv"

Hasten to add I have never removed cash from my wallet so fast!!

Will post a pic or two when I get home tomorrow.

RIP OFF!! I'd take it back but you are unlikely to get a rebate!!!

Coat..on...door open...walking out now...

Jim

PS....Did it have a box!?

Well here it is - The record 42 i got for a fiver, as you can see in the photo the blade hasn't been re-honed from new

Anyway, after finding this yesterday I went and had another look today and chatting to the bloke he mentioned there were a couple of other things he acquired at the same time - he dug them out of his van and asked if i they were any use to me and if they were i could have them both for a tenner - i reluctantly agreed

There was a Record 80 Cabinet Scraper, unused in its original box with instructions, still wrapped in its wax paper

And a Record Dowelling Jig, again in its original box, with instructions - The second set of bushes still in their packaging.
