I was making a pet run in my workshop when the boys were playing in the garden.
I was stapling the wire to the frame parts.
Suddenly the boys were fighting as they do and took my mind and face off of what I was doing, pressed the nail/staple gun at that point totally missing the woods or wire and ended up stapling into the end of my finger.
Lucky it was an electric staple gun and there was a gap Between my finger and the wood of about 1"so the long staple ended up going into the end of my finger hitting the bone and bouncing back out across the workshop.
I suddenly saw a great continuous spurt of blood shooting across my workshop out of the door and hitting the floor over 6 feet away I had to put pressure on the finger as you do to stop the bleeding and it was still bubbling out until it managed to clot.
Managed to get the boys to stop fighting to get their mum to get a plaster and as the staple was no longer in my finger and the bleeding had virtually stopped no point going up to A&E.
Did not think a hole could bleed so much or spray so far.
1 lesson learned if the kids are fighting stop wood working straight away what would have happened if I had been on the Bandsaw, lathe or even an air nail gun/ stapler I might have come of worse.
The worse I got was a painful finger and a bit of blood and my pride lost.
Even if you set up a workshop for safety and for my restrictions you still have to have your mind on the job at all times.

If you have really learned your lesson the next time you are doing something potentially dangerous in the workshop the boys will be staples to the walls first. :)
