Hi.

Thought I'd plop some more of my offerings on the table for the forum. Everything but the fire surround and the plate rack were made from pallets. The bracelet box at the end is a bit rough and was intended as an experiment before it was pressed into service as a christening gift.

Hi, I haven't posted here before but your work is lovely, How did you go about the writing in the picture frames like the Nain one ?Would I hazard an amateur guess of scroll saw ? Would you by any cheeky chance have and WIP pictures ?

Hi guys, thanks for the comments! :D

Hew: I don't have any WiP's I'm afraid. The process was pretty straight forward, tho. You're right in guessing I used a scrollsaw.

I used MS Word to make the patterns. I found a suitable font (I think I downloaded this one from www.dafont.com) and typed out the lettering to a suitable size. I printed this off and stuck it to the wood with pritstick having first covered the area with masking tape. I drilled holes between the letters to alow the blade to be passed though the peice. Everything was then cut out and carefully sanded to remove any rough edges. The important part was bunching some of the letters up so as to provide some support for the more 'vulnerable' ones.

next time I make something like this, I'll be sure to take some WiP's.
