It's like watching a film of a Victorian factory but in colour! Very enjoyable watch

I couldn't help thinking about where TLN came from, making tools by hand and now he's got a whole foundry and an army of workers. Definitely a deserving owner of a Chufty Badge

Watching that video...which is absolutely a work of art in itself...leads me to a number of conclusions...

1.) If I had all that kit I could make one of them there tools...

2.) WOW!

3.) Irrespective of the amount of tooling...the amount and skill of hand finishing is incredible....

4.) WOW...WOW!

5.) They are worth twice what they charge for them...

6.) WOW...and DOUBLE WOW!

7.) I want to save every penny I have unitl I get one....

8.) BLINKIN' WOW!!

9.) Nice to see they make the irons in a little kiln like what I does!!!

:D :D :D

Nice one Tom....made my day!!

Are you sure? How would you make a bedrock plane by hand? I wonder if the hone every blade like shown.

Cheers Pedder

Very enjoyable - to be making tools like that in America in 2010, to this standard, and at the prices they charge, is amazing.
Looking forward to the QS video at a third of the price.......
Philly :D

Did anybody else feel their credit card twitching ??????

Nice vid.

Cheers

Hmmm I suspect that the foundary was not part of the LN factory. I thought they outsourced that part of their work.

Even before promptling I also thought the first plane being set up for casting was one of those Stanely shooting plane gizmos.

We'll be keeping an eye out for that I'm sure.

I think you may be right there. To have dedicated foundry facilities on site would require some very heavy duty kit...I fancy the bare castings are made at the foundry and then processed later at TLN's gaff - Rob

What amazed me was the way those country boys lollop that molten bronze buckets around like they were clowns at Billy Smart's!!!

I feel a right fraud getting dressed up like a Ghostbuster just to harden a pidling blade!!!

:D :D

A pidling blade Jimi - is that some sort of collectable rural tool? We need pictures!
