Just thought I would share this with you all as I know you like to see pictures. ;) This was a special order at work as we normally in work in oak. Its the customers own design and sizes etc.

I was quite pleased to get to make it as it was something a little different.

:)

I forgot to put the shelves in for the pictures

Nola that's a really lovely piece. I love the finish you've given it.
Great work

Stewart

Thank you for the kind words.

The finish is a sprayed on base coat with a top cop of laquor then finished of wired back with 0000 steel wool and a light waxing. Unfortunatley I can't take any credit for the polishing. That was down to the polishing department :)

You are obviously a craftsman, hope the next order you want comes your way.

Oddly enough I have over 6 cu.ft of 1 1/4" thick hardwood in boards upto 30" wide (ex laboratry tops) and last year considered making a cabinet but after moving one of the boards with the help of a neighbour I have had to decide that I could not make a cabinet using these three pieces owing to the combined weight which I assume must be in the region of 300lbs.

Coming back to your marvellous handiwork I assume if it is in one piece you must at times call for assistance from fellow craftsman to help with furniture movement?

So how many cu.ft does your piece use at 40lbs a cu. ft. ?

Yes that is all in one piece. There are 6 cabinet makers in our shop at the moment so yes we help each other. When you come to a crossfame glue-up of something like that you need help.

We make some massive tables from time to time. They take 4 people to just lift the tops.

Beautiful work, I love it.
Excellent finish, must take a while to do it. It really shows the wood in all it's best grain :D

Post some more of those projects.
