Had a call from Mum, what are you going to get for your brothers birthday. EMMMMMMMM. Well Mum said that they are buying him a pen. Bu..er. No good making one of those then. Ah. No still don't know. Went to local stockiest with the idea of turning something. Half an hour later and well, still no idea. BUT then something hit me, well almost, it was a little more of, er..... I'm running out of time and oh yes, it (what ever) has to be made before er F...ng Thursday. So Mums gone for the pen, I'll compliment. I better come up with something. Here goes.

The wood used is white maliee, I think that is how it's spelt from down under. Sorry about the light in the photos.

Brilliant. Look really good and as said, something made means more. Only question is what on earth are you both doing up at this time in the morning?

Pete

Same as you Pete, plotting. Real reason, sent out 3 estimates over the weekend and had a reply on two to go ahead. Best thing is that the two that came back were the first and second in the grand total. Still on a high and now working out the rest of the work I have to do before the above.

Nice work, again pleasantly different, and so much added value with them being "personal" :D
Love the timber, looks quite similar to olive.

Malcolm,
Where did you get the wood from. Is it expensive?
I have to make a Trophy base, and I'm still undecided as to the wood to be used.

malcom, them are very nice indeed, infact i would go as far as saying STUNNING but i think you may find that the wood is red or brown mallee, but who cares when they are real beauty's. well done. =D>

Greggy sorry it is brown mallee, my fault

John.B I bought it from Wests Timber near Midhurst. It was about £25.00 for I think it was 4 kg. They do have some more, right up too a couple hundred quid.
