Wanted 14” Bandsaw / pro quality heavy duty bandsaw wanted

Hi Folks

Looking for a good quality used bandsaw as an upgrade to my Axminster 1950b which has served me well up to now and is going up for sale

I am building guitars and need something pro-level to cope with the work - including accurate resawing etc.

No-one makes a pro level 14" saw, for good reason, the blades for resawing wouldn't
like to bend around 14" wheels.
Why limit yourself to that small of a wheel size?
Here's some models which may be of interest, though a slight bit of emphasis on something larger
than the 400mm wheel sizes, what's at the start of the Italian series,
and likewise with the Far Eastern machines...the heavier versions, that's built to compete,
and not simply appear the same, featuring the table slot on the front and not to the side
is a sign the machine will be of a heavier build. (in this category, that is)
i.e heavier fence, cast iron wheels, larger wheel shafts, and carriage assembly to match.

Good time of year for buying, and once again I'll suggest a CO 450, as it's more or less the same size as a cheapo 18" to 20", (bar the larger table compared to most)
Or a CO 500 if possible.
The Centauro CO machines... the ones with foot mount motors
are nearly the only guaranteed foolproof design out there,
in this class of machine, as mentioned below.

I'd suggest fleabay or gumtree to find a bargain.
Since you mention resawing + guitars, one might get the impression of acoustics,
so it might be worth looking into having a carbide blade.
That choice is up to you, take a look at John Teneyck's posts, and once again worth noting that
Grizzly machine quite a differing beast to the norm, don't be fooled, it's twice as heavy as anything of the same size here, and there's never been similar sold in Europe,
as it is built to contend with Centauro's.

Should you have taken a shine to John's results, or Tai Fu on the OLF with his cheaper carbide blade source, then one should likely consider below,
or if it's just the case of being a bit skint, in regards to budget for a bandsaw...

Have a look at Myfordman's AKA Bob Minchin's induction motor PDF
Might have to visit the other place under the "machines and power toolery" section to download
the free document.
That is...if you want choices a'plenty, the best machines out there without compromise...
whilst also for the cheapest cost.

In good working order , Just put a new set of 6 guides / bearings on it , These cost £166
For sale at £750
It is big and heavy.
