Hi,

Yep its for a milling machine but they work very well on wood even the HSS ones and they are VERY VERY cheap, I use milling cutters mostly these days I had a 6mm and 10mm collet made to use other sizes of cutters.

Thanks Pete,
Just ordered one. Can't go far wrong for £6.00 :D
Cheers,
Jim

1/2 inch Cobolt (carbide) cutter

Thats a HSS cutter with added cobalt, not solid carbide. hence the description "HSCO"

I see he does not state the cobalt content, for example M42 is HSS with 8% Cobalt.

You can plunge with a slot drill as one of the two cutting edges goes past the center, but you cant plunge with most endmills, the majority of the 3 flute cutters will be OK for plunge cutting and it does say its end cutting. The only thing to watch is that the cutters for metal have less clearance so they can clog in wood when plunging.
