Is that cast in weight on the gear wheel designed to help balance the weight of the turning handle? If so a nuce bit of thoughtful design, I'm guessing it would give a modicum if flywheel effect?

It is has all but small castings of SIF 1940. WD
It is a SIF, but the records show it may bea copy of a Millers, with no S/N it is hard to prove.
Not the first millers of a SIF that goes out of its way to confuse humans.

Great job, there’s something very satisfying about taking rusty cast iron and making it look brand new. Now you’ll be able to keep the workshop going even in a power cut! :ROFLMAO:
