Thanks for all the advice, I got a 625 on Friday as I have a kitchen to install this week so I went with the tried and tested brand (most of my other power tools are DeWalt anyway) so I am looking forward to seeing what the results are compared to my old router.

I was making end and shoulder cuts on green oak with the Bosch and for a saw in this price range it coped with the job admirably. It depends what you need it for and your available space, I don't know about the Makita but the Bosch is a very light and compact unit.
