Ledged and braced gate between properties.

You have a good point; I think another important factor is/was that by putting the boards on the border line, and the posts on your side, you lose less of your garden than putting the edge of the post on the boundary and tha boards on your side. If you do the latter, the neighbour has access to...

Ledged and braced gate between properties.

It can be a guide, as most fences have the bad side facing the owners property, but legally it depends whose side of the boundary it is erected on.

I've never used a sliding mitre saw before, but I've just bought one. Looking for safety/operating advice.

Many years ago I had bought a new Citroen AX (mark 1). I had an accident within 12/18 months, where I hit a wall with both the front and rear of the car (yes, same wall in the same incident...lots of spinning involved). The insurance company were 50:50 to scrap or repair...they decided to...

    Hello...good evening...and welcome!

(Actually, it's 15:22 as I type, but you get the gist) I came across this site whilst googling "French Cleats" and purely because it is 'UK' based, I though I'd better join...get away from those pesky "17/49ths of an inch ga-bubbins. I like garages - Because the only place i have/will have to...
